About: Corner Post Meats is a gem of Colorado agriculture. A direct to consumer pasture raised meats ranch that serves the Colorado Front Range. All of their animals are raised through a sustainable, rotational grazing system that builds healthier soils and improves pasture while creating the highest quality meats available. Their animals live outside in open spaces with plenty of green grass, fresh air and clean water. At their Black Forest ranch you'll find cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens, and turkeys, all happy and healthy. Corner Post distributes all of the meat themselves, making a direct connection with all of their consumers.
"The story of our meat begins with healthy soils which in turn produce more vibrant, hearty and nutritious plants. A diverse diet of native-range forage is the key ingredient that determine the flavor and quality cuts of meat. Our Animals live a natural life – FREE of vaccinations, chemical dewormers, antibiotics, and growth hormones. We avoid the use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or any other “cides.” Grass finished meats in general tend to be high in Vitamin E, Beta Carotene, CLA’s and Omega 3 fatty acids. Corner Post Meats is a unique and unconventional artisan product which offers health flavor and quality." ~Adrienne Larrew - Owner

Corner Post Meats and the Audubon Society
Ranching and conservation working together
Corner Post Meats and the Audubon Society are working together on this 1500 acre sanctuary to conserve and promote wildlife habitat through sustainable grazing practices. That's right, using agriculture to promote conservation, not compete with it. The 1500 acre Kiowa Creek Ranch in Black Forest was passed on to the Audubon society to protect it from the encroaching development. The Audubon society needed to find a way to preserve and improve the ranch's habitat while also generating revenue. Enter Corner Post Meats and their sustainable grazing practices. Every day on the ranch they are recreating much of what large herds of bison and fire used to do to build our soils since time began. Corner Post Meats uses the churning hooves of cattle, the tilling noses of pigs, and the fertilization from chickens, to bring an inherently natural cycle of disturbance and growth to the landscape and soil.
