The Venue -  The Carter Payne is one of the true jewels of downtown Colorado Springs. Built in 1897, with land donated by General Palmer, this building was originally constructed as the Carter-Payne Chapel, an African Methodist Episcopal church. It has had many different concepts over the years, but it was always intended to be a community gathering place, for celebrating, meeting neighbors, and telling stories of the day. Local Relic, one of the most unique Brewery Concepts in Colorado Springs, and tenant of the Carter Payne, carries on the strong tradition of community in this building every day. Partnering with Immerse Cuisine, they bring people together over beer and food in this wonderful setting. We couldn't have asked for a better team or location to host A Grazing Life's first dinner of the year!

The Beer -  The Local Relic wants change the way you think about what local craft beer can be. They set out to make intentionally esoteric beers that will knock your socks off every time. There is no "meh" beer. They create over 200 different brews every year, and each one offers an experience. Local Relic is also out to change the way people think about community, and offer their space at the Carter Payne to anyone as like-minded as them. They are a Social Enterprise that Colorado Springs should be proud to have, and we are beyond excited to partner with them for this event.

Local Relic will be pairing 5 different beers over 7 courses. They will be crafting brews special for this event, and utilizing locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.

The Food  -  Chef Brent Beavers of Immerse Cuisine will be letting his imagination run wild for a this 7 Course Dining Experience. We will be working with local producers to source as much of the dinner as possible from the Colorado Springs area. This is not a "White Tablecloth, Tiny Fork Dining Experience. A Grazing Life strives to highlight the best ingredients prepared by the best chefs without all the pomp and circumstance. Come to the table ready to try new things, pass dishes with your neighbors, and have a different dining experience.

Chef Brent Beavers has been shaping the Colorado Springs food scene for over a decade. His newest concept, Immerse Cuisine, is delighting people at The Carter Payne Wednesdays through Saturdays. Chef Brent's mantra for Immerse Cuisine is the perfect fit for A Grazing Life, "craft the highest quality Colorado Cuisine without all the white tablecloth". We can't wait for you to get to know one of Colorado Springs' best Chefs!

The Music -  Colorado Springs' has an incredible music scene and as part of all our events we showcase it for our guests.

Roma Ransom - The Springs' favorite string duet will be filling the rafters of the Carter Payne with their musical magic. Prepare to be dazzled! (but seriously, they can play like 5 different instruments in just one song)

Wirewood Station - What do you get when you put a Rocker, a Classical Violinist, a Bluegrass Guitarist and a Jazz Bassist in the same room... Award winning WireWood Station!  This eclectic group of musicians are the reigning champs of the "Best Acoustic Band in Colorado" at the Rocky Mountain Music Festival as well as winning the "Best Band in Colorado Springs" by the readers of the Gazette for 2016, 2017 and 2018!
