Saturday August 4th Overview
Usually we have one featured Chef and restaurant, but for this dinner we have the whole compliment of Chefs from Pike's Peak Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF). The Pike's Peak ACF does so many great things for the Chefs of Colorado Springs; providing them with further educational opportunities, certifications, competitions, and other opportunities to further their growth and careers. When these guys take over a Farm Dinner they don't mess around...too many chefs in the kitchen, I don't think so. And to continue the theme of bettering Colorado Springs through business, we have paired this dinner with Goat Patch Brewing. GPB is just as dedicated to supporting and building community as they are to brewing great beer. Their beer pairings will be the perfect fit at this LOCALLY focused farm dinner!
The Chef - Taking the lead for the ACF is Chef Bill Thompson of Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. We rarely get to taste the creations of Chef Bill due to the exclusiveness of the Historic Country Club, so we should all be extra excited to see what he creates. But the person who is most excited is Chef Bill, he has been wanting to do a dinner at the ranch for 2 years now. Helping Chef Bill will be a full arsenal of Chef's from the Pike's Peak region all lending their hands and minds for what is sure to be an incredible dinner event!
The Drink - We have a special opportunity to pair this Farm Dinner with one of our favorite local breweries, Goat Patch Brewing company. Before Goat Patch made their first batch a beer they knew one thing, they wanted their brewery to be devoted to giving back to Colorado Springs. So drinking a pint of Goat Patch will make you feel good for 2 reasons. Goat Patch will be working with Chef Bill to pair the perfect beers for this authentic farm dinner! There will also be local wine on hand for our non beer drinkers.
The Music - You can hear the Tejon Street Corner Thieves on the radio these days, (if it's a good station at least). Colorado Springs most beloved band got its start, well you guessed it, on a Tejon St. Corner. They have worked their way into being a permanent fixture in the Colorado music scene and have toured nationally. The TSCT have a true cult following and for good reason. Follow them on facebook to see their schedule and check out their website to hear original music
More Than Just a Farm Dinner - Every "Night on the Ranch" is more than just a Farm dinner, its a celebration of everything local. You will have a full behind the scenes tour of Corner Post Meats, a working sustainable meats ranch, local wine, beer, or spirit tastings, art demos from local artists, local musicians and other entertainment. You will definitely leave with a full experience and deeper connection to everything local! This is the most "Colorado" thing you can do on a Saturday night.
