Audubon Conservation Ranching
"Working lands represent one of the best hopes for conservation. Audubon's Conservation Ranching Program honors the ranchers who are stewards of vast open spaces with a market based strategy that benefits landowners and birds alike."

Corner Post Meats and Audubon Rockies are working together on this 1500 acre sanctuary to conserve and promote wildlife habitat through sustainable grazing practices. That's right, using agriculture to promote conservation, not compete with it. The Kiowa Creek Ranch & Sanctuary in Black Forest was donated to the National Audubon Society to protect it from the encroaching development. Audubon needed to find a way to preserve and improve the ranch's habitat while also generating revenue. Enter Audubon’s Conservation Ranching program. By partnering with ranchers to strengthen their ability to manage land for both ecosystem and community health, the program works to enhance and restore millions of acres of grassland bird habitat across the Great Plains. This market-based conservation approach offers incentives for good grassland stewardship through a certification label on beef products. The intact grasslands on Kiowa Creek Ranch and conservation ethic of Corner Post Meats made a perfect opportunity to enact this program.

Corner Post Meats
Colorado's Most Progressive Meats Ranch

About: Corner Post Meats is a gem of Colorado agriculture. A direct to consumer pasture raised meats ranch that serves the Colorado Front Range. All of their animals are raised through a sustainable, rotational grazing system that builds healthier soils and improves pasture while creating the highest quality meats available. Their animals live outside in open spaces with plenty of green grass, fresh air and clean water. At the Audubon Rockies' Kiowa Creek Ranch and Sanctuary you'll find cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens, and turkeys, all happy and healthy. Corner Post distributes all of the meat themselves, making a direct connection with all of their consumers.

"The story of our meat begins with healthy soils which in turn produce more vibrant, hearty and nutritious plants. A diverse diet of native-range forage is the key ingredient that determine the flavor and quality cuts of meat. Our Animals live a natural life – FREE of vaccinations, chemical dewormers, antibiotics, and growth hormones. We avoid the use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or any other “cides.” Grass finished meats in general tend to be high in Vitamin E, Beta Carotene, CLA’s and Omega 3 fatty acids. Corner Post Meats is a unique and unconventional artisan product which offers health flavor and quality." ~Adrienne Larrew - Owner
