Saturday August 25th Overview
One of the Broadmoor's best will be preparing your Farm Dinner this night. Ristorante del Lago, Colorado Springs' premier Italian dining experience, is bringing their made from scratch, authentic, and out of the box philosophies to the ranch they love. Chef Mark Musial and Ristorante del Lago use Corner Post Meat in their restaurant every day so they'll know exactly what they're doing at the ranch! We are so excited that they are trading in one the best views in the city for one of the best views in the country. Post dinner, our favorite country band takes over the stage and put the perfect cap on the perfect night!
The Chef - Chef Mark’s first position was at the age of 15 at a bakery in O'Fallon IL, he was there for four years and began as the hopper operator (guy who fills doughnuts) and progressed to second assistant baker. If you had told him that he was destined to be a chef at the time “I would have had a good laugh”. Fast forward to 2006 when he joined the Broadmoor and was hired on as a food runner at Summit, and worked his way up to Cook Tournant before leaving the Broadmoor to go to San Antonio and work with Chef Bruce Auden at his Restaurant Biga on the Banks, he was there for a little less than two years before returning to the Broadmoor to take on a position at the Penrose Room as a Cook Tournant. In 2011, Musial moved to the Summit where he served as Jr. Sous Chef in 2012 he became the Chef de Cuisine. In 2017, Chef Musial was promoted to take the helm at both Ristorante del Lago and Play at The Broadmoor.
The Drink - We love all things local and it doesn't stop with food. Every dinner will offer a combination of local wine, beer and spirits, all of which are produced in a 30 mile radius of the ranch.
The Music - Colorado Springs favorite Country Band, Ashlee and the Longshot Revival, will be rocking the Front Porch Stage overlooking our beautiful dinner table. This entertaining groups puts their fresh take on everything from Dolly, Tammy, and Cash to George Strait and Little Big Town. This is a night to wear your dancing shoes!
More Than Just a Farm Dinner - Every "Night on the Ranch" is more than just a Farm dinner, its a celebration of everything local. You will have a full behind the scenes tour of Corner Post Meats, a working sustainable meats ranch, local wine, beer, or spirit tastings, art demos from local artists, local musicians and other entertainment. You will definitely leave with a full experience and deeper connection to everything local! This is the most "Colorado" thing you can do on a Saturday night.
